Start your morning slow....it's a NEW beginning!






Today we wre "starting fresh" new day in the new year....

Let me share a few things you can use to start fresh not just in the New Year, but in any moment of your life. One of the most beautiful and powerful tools I've found for helping me live with more mindfulness has been my morning routine,especially during in "not working times" :D The morning is a special time for us to be with ourselves, reflect within ourselves, and simply be present to the peaceful silence of the morning.

Let's keep in mind that everyone is different. So how to start your day off on the right foot?

You don't have to wake up super early or do anything specific, you could simply decide to wake up 30 minutes earlier and what you do in those 30 minutes would be your mindful morning routine.

Whatever you do be fully present,do it with mindfulness.

First of all find the peace and quiet of the morning in the silence. Silence can be a very nourishing and empowering experience. Invite morning silence into yor routine by sitting quietly. Use this time to set an intention for the day, journal, meditate, or do yoga.

At other times enjoy a cup of coffee or breakfast without trying to “multi-task", we would have the rest of the day to communicate with the outside world. Choose to start your morning quietly to set the tone for the rest of the day.


Activities to choose from and practice during the period of Silence(at least 5 minutes) :

  • Meditation

  • Prayer

  • Reflection

  • Deep Breathing

  • Gratitude

Here is my guide to Miracle Morning Meditation practice:


  • Find a quiet, comfortable place to sit. Sit up straight on the couch, on a chair, on the floor, or sit on a pillow.

  • Close your eyes or you can look down at the ground and become fully present in this moment

  • Begin by focusing on your breath, taking slow, deep breaths. In through the nose, out through the mouth, and be sure to breathe into your belly, rather than your chest.

  • Now, start pacing your breath; in slowly on a count of 3 seconds, hold it in for 3 seconds, and then breathe out slowly on a count of 3 seconds

  • As you attempt to quiet your mind, thoughts will still come in to pay a visit. Simply acknowledge them, then let them go, always returning your focus to your breath

Once you settle in, it's time for mindful morning mantra for starting fresh each day and making the most of your mindful morning routine. During the silence in your inner mind start to repeat:

As I open my eyes,

I awaken to the beauty and freshness of this moment,

A whole new 24 hours has been given to me,

I will live it mindfully,

Appreciating deeply every moment of it

Stay in the moment for as long as you need....

Remember that this time you have in the morning is your time to start fresh. Each and every morning is a moment, an opportunity, to start fresh and begin anew.

No matter what happened the previous day, month, or year you can put your best foot forward and walk mindfully, live mindfully, fully awake to the beauty of the present moment.

With the choice being in the chaos or stillness, choose stillness from now on, through practicing morning silence.

Make fresh start not only in the beginning of the NEW Year but in every day's moment and see what happens!
